These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DocumentAI.dev platform, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by CV Web Services (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Service Description

DocumentAI.dev provides document processing APIs that allow developers to convert, extract, store, and search documents programmatically. The Service currently includes three API endpoints:

  • /document-to-json — convert documents to structured JSON
  • /document-to-markdown — convert documents to Markdown
  • /store-and-search-documents — store and semantically search documents

We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address or a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or for any abusive purpose.

3. Workspaces & API Keys

Your account is associated with one or more workspaces. Each workspace has its own API keys, subscription plan, usage limits, and team members with assigned roles (owner, developer, billing, accounting).

API keys are secret credentials. You must not share, publish, or embed them in client-side code. We store only cryptographic hashes of your keys; we cannot recover a lost key. You are responsible for any API usage performed with your keys.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

The Service offers a free tier and paid monthly subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges.

  • Credits — Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Credits are consumed by API calls (1 credit per input page for document processing, 0.2 credits per search query). Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not accumulate.
  • Document storage — Each plan defines a maximum number of stored documents. Documents exceeding the limit cannot be ingested.
  • Free tier — The free plan provides a limited credit and storage allowance, renewed periodically. No credit card is required.

You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the Service
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Process content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of third parties

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice and without refund.

6. Your Data

You retain all rights to the documents and data you upload to the Service. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

Documents are processed using AI models to perform OCR, extraction, and embedding. We do not use your documents to train AI models. Your data is stored and processed exclusively within the European Union.

You may delete your documents, dataspaces, and account at any time through the dashboard or API. For more details on how we handle your data, please see our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability & Support

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CV Web Services shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, whether arising from contract, tort, or otherwise, in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amounts paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, documentation, and branding, is the property of CV Web Services and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary assets.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data and account information will be removed. Active subscriptions should be cancelled before account deletion.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.
